Role description
As PauseAI Global’s Organizing Director, you will lead international implementation of strategy - including designing and operationalizing growth and retention plans for volunteers, build international campaigns and develop and mentor National Chapter Lead Organizers (volunteers and staff).
You will lead the PauseAI Global leadership team and convene the National Chapter Leads meetings.
You will be responsible to the PauseAI Global CEO.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- International Leadership: Act as the primary coordinator and point of contact for international PauseAI activities.
- Campaign Coordination and Project Management: Plan and execute international campaigns, demonstrations and advocacy efforts.
- Chapter Development : Establish, support and manage national PauseAI groups.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build productive and collaborative relationships with other AI safety organisations, academic institutions, and policy groups.
- Fundraising: Secure grants and donations to continue supporting PauseAI Globals work.
- Resource Design and Creation: Designing training materials and organizing resources for volunteers, including those necessary to take collective action.
- Mentorship, Facilitation and Training: Train and mentor volunteer leaders and the National Lead Organizers. Facilitation of training events, such as PauseCons, as well as online trainings.
Skills & Attributes
- Proven experience and leadership in community organizing, activism or virtual community building.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, on camera and facilitation experience.
- Supports the idea of an AI Pause, but open to different perspectives (such as threat models or policies).
- Proactive and entrepreneurial. Strategically minded and able to build flexible but actionable plans.
- Preferably based in the Netherlands, United Kingdom or France, but remote work is also possible.
- Understanding of AI safety; expertise is not required, but must be a fast learner. Must support an international Pause treaty solution.
- Knowledge of legal/AI governance is a plus.
- Project management abilities with experience coordinating teams, especially volunteers.
Conditions
- Remote work. Maybe in the future an office in London or Paris.
- Full-time position, 32 hours per week negotiable.
- Salary range: 40k - 60k EUR per year, depending on experience.
